High stakes baccarat is the same game as a $10 table. The cards, the third-card rule and the 1.06% edge on banker do not change with the size of the bet. Three things do: the table maximum you can reach, what the casino does when you try to withdraw a large win, and how far your balance moves from one session to the next. This guide covers those three, in that order, for a player betting four figures a hand at a crypto casino.
Who sets the table maximum
The studio builds the table and the casino sets the limits. Each live table shows its minimum and maximum per bet before you place a chip, and the same studio table can carry different limits at two different casinos. We could not open an official studio page that lists baccarat bet limits, so we print no maximum here. The number that matters is the one on the table at your casino.
What studios do publish is the format. Evolution's own press release from 2018 introduced Salon Privé as private, single-player roulette and blackjack tables for VIP players, where the player can choose the dealer, change the cards and control the game speed. Whether your casino offers a private baccarat table of that kind is a question for its support. A private table is not a better bet. A slower pace lowers your cost per hour, nothing more.
Three checks before you sit down:
- Open the limits panel. Note the maximum on banker and player separately; side bets usually have their own, lower caps.
- Check the gap between your bet and the maximum. If you plan to raise stakes after a loss, the maximum will stop you sooner than you think. See baccarat strategy.

Variance in high stakes baccarat: the swing table
The house edge decides where you end up over thousands of hands. Over one evening, variance decides. A banker bet wins 0.95 units 45.86% of the time, loses 1 unit 44.62% of the time and pushes on a tie 9.52% of the time. From those standard 8-deck figures, one hand on banker has an expected result of minus 1.06% and a standard deviation of about 0.927 units.
Standard deviation grows with the square root of the number of hands, while the expected loss grows in a straight line. So the swing dominates short sessions. The table is our calculation for banker at 1,000 USDT a hand, using the normal approximation.

Read the first row slowly. After 100 hands, a result of plus or minus 9,000 USDT is ordinary, and a win of more than 17,000 USDT happens in about one session in forty. That single good night is larger than a monthly cap of $5,000. The longer you play, the further the expected loss pulls the whole range down: at 1,000 hands, only about one session in three finishes ahead.
Pace turns this into money per hour. At roughly 70 hands an hour on a standard live table, the cost of 1,000 USDT on banker is about 742 USDT an hour (1,000 × 70 × 1.06%). On player it is about 868 USDT. The difference of 126 USDT an hour is why banker or player is not a matter of taste at this level.

Baccarat VIP programmes, as a concept
Most casinos that court high stakes baccarat play run some kind of VIP or loyalty scheme: a personal manager, faster withdrawals, higher limits on request, a share of losses returned. We do not describe any listed casino's programme, because VIP terms are not part of the records we read. Treat any baccarat VIP offer the same way as a withdrawal cap:
- Ask for it in writing. A verbal promise of faster payouts does not change a clause in the terms.
- Check what it is paid on. A return on turnover and a return on net losses are very different at a 1.06% edge.
- Check whether it changes the cap. A higher withdrawal limit for VIP players should appear in the terms or in a written confirmation, not only in chat.
- Price it against the edge. At 742 USDT an hour of expected cost, a perk is worth what it returns per hour, not what it is called.
